The Lewiston Elementary School District is a single-school, TK-8 remote, rural district located in the mountains of Trinity County along the Trinity River. The district currently has 70 students, with 100% of the school participating in the provisional lunch program providing free breakfast, lunch, and snacks.  

Lewiston School’s vision is to help students to become lifelong learners and to have the knowledge and skills to be career and college-ready. We strive to provide a safe, clean, drug-free, nurturing, and technologically up-to-date physical environment in which each student is treated as a worthy individual who can succeed. We are implementing state standards as a priority. All students have access to standards-aligned instructional materials in all subject matter and there are sufficient textbooks and one-to-one technology for each student.  The school offers a well-rounded education for all students providing physical education, music instruction, art docents, and a variety of field trips and extra learning opportunities. The school is staffed by a superintendent/principal, administrative secretary, business officer, and four multi-grade credentialed teachers. In addition, there are five teacher aides, a special education aide, a maintenance worker, a custodian, and a cook. After-school staff includes a site coordinator and two instructional assistants. The administrative team works cooperatively with each other, the school board, the staff, and parents to ensure a positive environment.
